Odacık

Odacık, meaning "little room” in Turkish, gains the word little as an adjective through the addition of “cık” at the end of the word. The addition can also be made to belittle, demean or simply cutify the meaning of any word. Odacık is a performance that takes place inside a four-walled structure, using enclosure to explore social death, inherited grief, and the female body in unseen domestic space. By remaining inside, I examine what it means to be present yet partially inaccessible, seen but not fully witnessed.
